O beautiful Mangroves! Born on the shore,
And bear great Sundarban's heritage;
You are saving us from your core;
And wildlife finds you their secure cottage.
You face the cyclone at first,
And stand still before the wave's thirst;
You keep the soil with firm,
And save the dam from severe harm.
But people are uprooting you for their need,
They have to build up their resort indeed;
Cut you down to extend their land,
Where you gathered up the silt and sand.
Now we become homeless,
And the salt water occupies our field;
Still the butchers are very shameless,
Denying that you were a wall of shield.
